Cabinet shake-up: Yuguda takes over as Planning Minister

Minister of State for Works, Mr. Bashir Yuguda, on Monday officially took over as the Supervising Minister of National Planning.

Yuguda took over from Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, who was relieved of his post last week Wednesday by President Goodluck Jonathan.

At a brief ceremony in Abuja, Usman said he was leaving the commission a happy man, since he had played his part in restoring the credibility of the commission.

He expressed confidence that the supervising minister would succeed with the transformation drive. Usman urged the NPC members of staff to give his successor all the necessary support to succeed.
