Nigerian Military Battles Boko Haram As Militants Attempt To Seize Another Borno Town
Members of the extremist Boko Haram group are presently making efforts to take over Biu, the largest town in Southern Borno state, residents have told Premium Times.
One resident, Kaka Ali, told Premium Times the insurgents arrived early Wednesday through the southern part of the town, and moved to take over the army barracks there.
“Our boys have already taken strategic position waiting for them, at the moment, the soldiers are battling them. All we can hear now are gunshots from the direction of the barracks,” Mr. Ali said.
It will be recalled that the group has seized many towns in Borno and Adamawa States.
