Security guard shoots colleague to death

A night guard at Gbaremu Oloba of the Ogbere area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Adeshina Atanda, has been arrested by policemen from the Agugu Police Division for allegedly shooting another guard, Taofiq Sikiru.

Sikiru was said to have been returning from work in the morning of Friday, September 13, when he met his untimely death.

Atanda was said to have shot Sikiru in the chest in error, thinking that the deceased was an intruder.

It was learnt that Sikiru was taken to Ade-Oyo Hospital but was confirmed dead by doctors on arrival at the hospital.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Police Command , Olabisi Ilobanafo, told our correspondent that investigation was ongoing to determine circumstances that led to the shooting.
